▲三個麻州Massachusetts 小常識：

麻州位於美國東北部，面積大概是27000平方公里，總人口大約為700萬人。

Massachusetts locates in the northeastern portion of the U.S. It is the country’s 7th smallest and 15th most populous state.

麻州在美國歷史上扮演著很重要的角色，它不但是美國獨立時最初的13州之一，英國殖民時期在首府發生的波士頓大屠殺更是美國獨立運動的起源，波士頓也因此被稱為”自由的搖籃”.

Massachusetts is one of the original 13 British colonies. Its capital Boston played a significant role in American history; particularly, the Boston Massacre was a signal event leading to the Revolutionary war.

麻州對美國的科學、商業或文化的影響都非常深遠。許多知名的政治家像約翰亞當斯及甘迺迪都來自於麻州，甚至是大家都熱愛運動，排球及籃球也是來自於麻州。

Massachusetts has played a powerful scientific, commercial, and cultural role in the history of the United States. Several prominent American politicians have hailed from the state, including John Adams and John Kennedy. Moreover, the sports of basketball and volleyball were invented in western Massachusetts.

直到今天麻州仍是美國教育及經濟上的指標，世界最知名的兩所大學哈佛及麻省理工學院都位在麻州。 Some of the most prestigious universities are located in Massachusetts, namely Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of technology. Based on a report from US News in 2017, Massachusetts ranked 1st in education, and 5th in economy.
