Like what? 像什麼一樣呢?

詞窮,是在與人對話時很尷尬的窘境,時常找不到相對的用語去形容想表達的情境或感受, 抑或讓對方知道自己的情緒層級有多高,但如果有具體的動物或東西能夠形容當下的想法,是最適切的解救方法。 [學習目標]: 學習英文中用as…as…描述意境的相關的字詞 Practice Target: Learn some useful expressions as…as in English. ********************** Dialogue: (情境對話) Hope : Hey, Joey, how come I haven’t seen Michael lately? Joey : Oh, he is as sick as a dog and he is home in bed now. Hope : Poor guy. What happened to him? Joey : He caught a cold right after he finished that big project last week. Hope : Oh, right! He was as busy as a beaver last time when I saw him. Joey : By the way, did you see Alice was as quiet as a mouse during the meeting this morning? Hope : I didn’t even notice her there. Hope: Yes. My fridge starts making some weird noise this week. Joey: 怪聲音? Hope: Yes, some weird noise.It sounds especially scary at midnight when you go to the kitchen. 每次要買新家電時,做好功課貨比三家很重要!!! 但有時還是會踩雷,不是買了美貌大於實用,就是購入了吃電怪獸或一次壞的家電, 而這些家電用器的英語又要如何表達呢?   [學習目標]: 學習英文中各種家電相關的字詞 Practice Target: Learn some useful vocabulary of household appliances in English.   ********************** Dialogue: (對話)   Hope: Hey, Joey, how do you like the washing machine you bought last weekend? Joey: Oh~ Perfect! It’s hard to imagine life without a good washing machine! What about your fridge? Hope: It goes well. And most importantly, it is quiet and it is energy-efficient and eco-friendly. Joey: Eco-friendly 我知道是環保,and energy-efficient 是節能省電嗎? Hope: Correct. More and more people nowadays care about the issue. Hey, Joey, have you got any appliances that you think like an energy hog? Joey: An energy hog? Hope: Yes, appliances that use too much electricity. Joey: Oh! An energy hog! …Hmm, let me think…there is one. My electricity fan.I think it is just too old…and a microwave oven, 我家的微波爐, is old too. There is a tumble dryer, 滾筒乾衣機. I think it uses lots of electricity. Hope: What about some appliances that you or your family have bought and you find them useless? Joey: Wow! There are quite many. I have a 縫紉機 and I only use it once. Hope: A sewing machine? You only use it once? Anything else? Joey: Ah~電玩主機和控制器。 Hope: A video game console and its video game controller. Joey: There is 鬆餅機 and 氣炸鍋 Hope: A waffle maker and an air Fryer.
