An Icelandic company has created a small camper that gives people the chance to add a little luxury to their camping trips.
The teardrop-shaped Mink 2.0 sports camper was created by Mink Campers and is big enough to sleep two adults and one child.
Above its queen-size bed it has a large window in the roof, while the back opens to become a kitchen with a stove and space for personal items. There are USB ports both in the sleeping area and in the kitchen area, and a sound system can be added as well.
The walls are made of 30-millimeter-thick plastic with 19 millimeters of insulation, so the camper stays warm in temperatures below zero degrees — important for camping in Iceland, where the average temperature in Reykjavík, the capital, is just 1-2 degrees Celsius in winter.
A heating system can also be added for about $1,500, and a solar power system can be added for about $900.
The Mink 2.0 camper starts at about $17,000, plus shipping and taxes. However, it is only available in Europe, and the company says the product is already sold out. More campers will be available in spring 2021.
