Singapore Airlines May Offer Flights to Nowhere

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is looking at offering flights that leave from and return to Singapore Changi Airport without landing anywhere else.
According to The Straits Times, the flights would take around three hours, and could start by the end of October 2020.
The Straits Times was also told that SIA may try to work with the Singapore Tourism Board to let passengers pay for part of their tickets using government tourism vouchers. Singaporeans are getting "SingapoRediscovers Vouchers" to spend at local restaurants, hotels, shops and attractions to help the tourism industry.
Other airlines are already offering "flights to nowhere." In August, Japan's All Nippon Airways took passengers on a 90-minute flight to and from Tokyo's Narita Airport. Passengers were given a Hawaiian vacation experience at the airport and during the flight.
In September, Tigerair Taiwan took about 120 passengers into the sky above the South Korean island of Jeju, which is about 1,000 kilometers from Taiwan, before returning home. Sky News reported that passengers had their temperatures checked before getting on the plane, and some wore traditional Korean clothing.
