三個瓜地馬拉 Guatemala 的小常識：
瓜地馬拉位於中美洲南部，面積大概是10萬9千平方公里，總人口約為1800萬人。
Guatemala is a country located in the southern part of Central America. It’s about 3 times the size of Taiwan with a population of 18 million.
即使到今日，都能在瓜地馬拉看到中美洲馬雅文化的些許蹤跡，尤其是少部分的人仍會使用馬雅文。但由於在16世紀時經歷過西班牙人的殖民統治，西班牙文是現今瓜地馬拉的官方語言。
Even since the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors in the 16th century, Spanish has been the official language of Guatemala. However, with the Maya civilization having a significant presence in Guatemala for thousands of years, the Mayan language is spoken by at least half a million people in the country today.
中美洲最大的火山 - 塔胡木耳科火山就位於瓜地馬拉境內，此座高達4220公尺的火山是許多登山及攀岩客的必訪之地。
Volcán Tajumulco, the largest volcano in Central America, is located in Guatemala and stands at an impressive height of 4,220 meters. Due to its high elevation and breathtaking views, Tajuimulco is a popular destination for hikers and climbers.
跟其他的中美洲國家一樣，瓜地馬拉有著許多古馬雅文明的蹤跡。他們境內的提卡爾是
馬雅時期貿易、宗教、以及政治的中心，城內更是保存下來許多寺廟、宮殿、及金字塔，提卡爾也因此被列為世界文化遺產之一。
Similar to other countries in Central America, the ancient Maya civilization had a significant presence in Guatemala; Tikal in particular, was a major center for trade, religion, and politics, and it was home to many pyramids, temples, and palaces. It is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
