Today's program is dedicated to the American Independence Day and to baseball! I hope you will pick up some interesting clues about American behavior and American character by listening.
Our fabulous guest today, Clive Hsu, is a teacher at Morrison Academy, Taichung, but he has another passion in life, his “dream job” as an English speaking commentator and broadcaster for Taiwan (and American) professional baseball.
Clive grew up in both the USA and Taiwan. He credits his father who by taking him to his first baseball game at age 6, opened his eyes and heart to this sport.
Clive talks about how he honed his skills to become a commentator, how he got his “breaks” and his jobs. He talks about his love of the game, what he's learned and where he hopes he can go in the future. You can hear a clip of Clive commenting on a homerun in the interview today!
One of the greatest lines in the interview was, when asked if he'd be interested in live broadcast commenting for baseball games, he replied, “….let me check with my wife first, but I'm in!!”
Thank you for listening and we wish you all a safe and happy weekend!
