Dialogue: (情境對話)
Hope : Hey, Joey, on my ways here, there was a traffic accident.
Joey : Oh! My! Was everything okay?
Hope : Yes. A motor scooter ran into a high school student who was riding her bike across the street. I think the student was rushing to school and the man was rushing to work. Luckily, both of them only got slightly hurt.
Joey : Rushing to somewhere…That’s the VERY moment when people are careless.
Hope : Right! That’s why we should always be careful when we hit the road.
Joey : 對! 一旦上路就要小心。
Hope : More haste, less speed.
Joey : More haste, less speed. 所謂的”欲速則不達”。
Hope : In fact, a report on CNN news described Taiwan as a ‘living hell” and it claimed that Taiwan’s ‘living hell’ traffic is a tourism problem.
And it suggests that Taiwan improve its road safety for drivers and pedestrians alike.
Joey : I know that…They say Taiwan is a “行人地獄.”
Hope : That makes Taiwan notorious for this bad image.
Joey : This is very bad. Everyone should obey the traffic regulations.
