April 13 - Songkran Festival (Thai New Year)
Ushering in Spring with water!

The festival begins on the sixth month of the Dai calendar, and is held around the full moon during that time. The festival lasts 3 to 4 days, beginning with people visiting a Buddhist temple in costume on the morning of the first day to build a pagoda and listen to Buddhist scriptures. Young men and women splash water on each other to pray for good luck, creating a village-wide water festival.
