B: I’m writing a letter to the government.

A: That sounds really serious! What are you writing about?

B: I’m writing to ask them to stop killing people as punishment.

A: Do you mean you want to get rid of the death penalty?

B: Yes, everyone has the right to life, and no one has the right to kill others!

A: But what about dangerous criminals? Shouldn’t they get serious punishments like

the death penalty?

B: If that happens and it turns out that they were not the ones who did the crime,

then killing them is even worse, isn’t it?

A: I guess you’re right. I’ve never thought about it that way before.
